Here we are with only two days left in summer and heading into a glorious Fall! Let's take a quick trip to Chelsea to view what's up and unfurling as autumn unveils her glorious colors! Speaking of colors, take a quick trip to the Gallery building at 529 W. 20th Street. Denise Bibro, Andre Zarre, Kim Foster and the other galleries in this building are awash in painterliness and color! What a great way to open the season! Take a quick jaunt down to Lori Bookstein's gallery on 10th and 19th for a fabulous collage show! Also, Pavel Zoubok has a major collage artist exhibiting that is sure to wow and visually delight with works created from maps and collaged to create portraits and more! Also in Chelsea, stroll over to the Center for the Book Arts and check out the exhibit curated by Maria Pisano entitled: "The Book as Witness: An Artist's Response". This is a lovely exhibit with several artists I know and will be closing on the 22nd of this month! Check out the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology for 2 other great exhibits: "Fashion and Technology" and "Fashion from A-Z". Both exhibits are exciting with wonderful examples of designers that we all wish we owned. That's a full day and if you have time check out the High Line and stroll awhile or go to Chelsea Market and grab a bite to eat! It's a lovely way to spend the waning days in the city and greet Autumn!

Wouldn\'t everyone like a little more time to create some special things? Book Artists did!!!10/9/2010 One of the joys of having more time is to sit back, relax, reflect, or do something special for yourself with your own special time...When the Guild of Book Workers pulled together an exhibit entitled "Marking Time" curated by Karen Hanmer their special creations certainly made my special time very special for me. Enjoying these exquisite works one on one at Lafayette College's Skillman Library is a joy! But if you can't get to the East Coast to view these works in person, here's an online version complete with its exhibition schedule...Click on the link or copy and paste into your web browser to begin enjoying these wonderful artist's books.
http://guildofbookworkers.org/gallery/markingtime/exhibitionschedule.html If you are out on the East Coast and able to get into New York City, be sure to check out book arts exhibits at the Center for Book Arts; MOMA'a new and elegant permanent exhibit space for prints and books; th J.P. Morgan Library and the New York Public Library's wonderful exhibits that are housed in their magnificent building. The New York Public Library always offers a photo exhibit from their repository, a print/book exhibit, and usually one or two other wonderful exhibits. Enjoy your time in the big apple and remember to rest and take in the architecture of New York City as well...look up and up and up and...well, you get the idea... Two more artists' book exhibits will be opening this week!! At Moravian College's Haupert Union Building in the H.
